Happy Monday Vikings, we plan to have a important Parent Meeting during practice tonight Monday 8/19 starting around 7:45PM. With the new league and games next weekend there is a lot of important information that we would like to cover. Please make an effort to be there and help us kick off the season. Below are a few urgent reminders that key to making sure you athlete is ready to play in games next weekend

• Athlete registration needs to be complete and finalized by Monday 8/19. We will be building rosters this weekend so we can submit them to the league next week.
• You MUST have a current, valid USA Water Polo membership (bronze and above) to be able to participate in the games next weekend and practices from here on out. If you DO NOT HAVE a USA Water Polo membership please do so TODAY if possible.
• I may reach out directly if I have issues adding your athlete to the roster.
• Remember previous American Water Polo memberships will NOT work.

First weekend of games will be August 24th and 25th. Here is a link to the full GWPL games schedule

Teams are required to provide 2 volunteers to work the table per game.

• We will cover this in more detail on Monday but every parent must watch this video to be familiar with how to work the table:
  • Water Polo Table Working 101 (Video)
  • Working the table is NOT HARD and you get to learn so much about the game and plus it is one of the best seats in the house.
  • We really need help with this and I would love to have every parent try this at least once as season. Please don't rely on the same parent for every game. It really is fun!

Registration for the Fall 2024 water polo season is OPEN!!! The registration button can be found on our website or through the link below. PLEASE forward this message to anyone that may be interested in trying out water polo so they can have the signup information. Even if they are not ready to sign-up make sure they sign-up for the GroupMe so they can stay informed.

• Fall Registration

Reminder: We are now part of the new Georgia Water Polo League which means all athletes must have a USA Water Polo bronze membership or above to register!!! You will be asked in 2 areas on the registration form for the USA Water Polo membership number.

• Bronze Membership ($45) is required to participate in GWPL practices and games this fall season. Silver and Gold membership are also fine but not required if you only plan to play in GWPL fall season. Happy to field questions on our GroupMe channel!

Make sure you and your athlete are signed up for the Viking Water Polo GroupMe

• We use our TeamTopia for broad email notifications but we will continue to use the our GroupMe channel for more frequent updates and reminders.
• GroupMe is bidirectional and allows parents, athletes and coaches to send important messages about practices and games.
• When you register via TeamTopia you will automatically be added to the email notifications but GroupMe is a separate system and you need to signup separately.
